The first annual Motherhood the Remix Conference, the fresh, fun, groundbreaking conference held at the luxurious Grand Bohemian Hotel March 1 – 2, 2019 in Birmingham, AL, was attended by 25 women from five different states in the US.
The second annual Motherhood the Remix Conference will be held at the Canary Gallery in Birmingham, AL on March 14, 2020. We anticipate 40+ women this year. This conference brings together a dynamic throng of women who desire to transform their mommy mindset. They wish to change the narrative of motherhood, creating a new story in which self-care is no longer perceived as a frivolous pursuit but where moms boldly put themselves, first, so they can better care for their families. These mommas desire wellness in the broadest sense - mental fortitude, physical strength, power and femininity, spiritual growth, and healthy relationships because we raise happy, healthy children when we, ourselves, are happy and healthy. The 2020 conference theme , will be “When Motherhood Ain’t So Pretty,”. We’ll hear from moms who have faced personal challenges like remarrying and blending families, parenting a child with developmental delays or caring for aging parents and how those challenges impacted their parenting journey. Attendees are:
- Moms in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.
- Small business owners, physicians, educators, attorneys, fitness enthusiasts, and stay at home moms
- Mom’s changing the motherhood conversation, ready to celebrate parenting, but not at the expense of their identity or wholeness
